Work
Kaggle - Client Relationship Manager
November 2014 - Present
I joined Kaggle for the opportunity to go deeper into the field of data science and to learn first hand how to scale a business. At Samasource, my customers were data scientists who needed well-labeled data for machine learning. In coming to Kaggle, I'm now the heart of the action. We help customers enhance their predictive modeling work and build strong data science teams through our crowd-powered competitions platform.
In this job I wear many hats; from in-bound lead qualifier to contract negotiator to account manager to project support. Overall, my objective is to make sure customers have a smooth, valuable experience running Kaggle competitions while also making sure we have a regular stream of interesting and diverse competitions to keep the community engaged.
Samasource - Manager of Professional Services
May 2012 - October 2014
I joined Samasource as a project manager and, within two years I had delivered $2.5 million dollars of revenue across 20 enterprise accounts. As a project manager we were responsible for all aspects of delivery: from project design, to managing production through a distributed workforce, to overseeing quality assurance and making the final delivery of Microwork projects to our clients.
In December, 2013 I was promoted to manage our team of 13 project managers based in the US, Kenya, and India. I also took ownership of our 9 vendor relationships, based in 5 countries. In one year we doubled the operational capacity of the team (from $3mm annual rev to $6mm annual rev) and in my last two quarters as manager, we exceeded revenue targets by 170%.
Quinstreet - Web Media Producer
June 2011 - April 2012
Quinstreet is where I learned the ropes of digital marketing. On the Personal Finance team, I was responsible for reporting CPC and CPV revenue across a portfolio of 50+ independent websites. I also had charge of two personal finance blogs, for which I would manage cross-functional projects between Engineering, Creative, and Editorial to better optimize site traffic and revenue.
